Characterisation of the Aerodynamic Aerosol Classifier Transfer Function for Particle Sizes up to 5 Micrometres

The Aerodynamic Aerosol Classifier (AAC) classifies particles with the desired aerodynamic diameter by generating opposing centrifugal and drag forces on using rotating concentric cylinders a clean sheath flow. Particle transmission through classifier is described its transfer function, which an important indicator of performance. Characterisation classifier’s function improves accuracy common aerosol applications, such as measuring particle size distributions or providing classified to other instruments for calibration further analysis. This characterisation commonly achieved experimentally tandem set-up same classifier.
